The Firearms Assessment standards for this program are the same as the basic academy. You will be required to meet the handling and safety of each weapon as well as shooting skill. You are expected to have this skill when you attend. This is a test not training. You will be expected to demonstrate the handling, loading and unloading of each of the weapons required by MCOLES. There will be a safety briefing; however, this is a test not a basic shooting school. You are required to shoot a patrol rifle, shotgun and handgun. You should be prepared for a test of your shooting and handling skills. If the Range Master, Director or staff feels you are not properly handling or shooting any weapon, you will be dismissed without refund.

Behavioral Health Emergency Partnership Pre-Course Information Behavioral Health Emergency Partnership (BHEP) is a behavioral health training course designed to equip emergency responders with the tools they need to effectively recognize, respond, and mitigate a behavioral health crisis incident. BHEP Training is 20 hours in length, consisting of three linked training segments, Pre-Course Online Training (4-hours), Classroom Instruction (8-hours), and Scenario Based Training (8-hours). The BHEP program utilizes instructional strategies that are aligned with adult learning theory, the experiential learning cycle and ITIP (Instructional Theory in Practice) to translate knowledge and skill to behavioral enhancement on-the-job. 1.Self-paced online learning - The initial segment of instruction (Behavioral Health Crisis Training) is to be completed through the MITrain LMS website(https://www.train.org/mi-train). Chrome has given the best results for ease of navigation inside the course. a. Log in or create a MITrain account b. Search for “Behavioral Health Crisis Training” c. Use the registration code “BHCTEST” (all caps, no spaces) d. Save your certificate of completion2.Classroom based learning - Day one utilizes student centered instructional strategies such as small group activities, live role play, video scenarios, and groupdiscussions.3.Scenario based training - Day two is designed to meet the psychomotor needs of the participant while offering the opportunity to utilize all knowledge and skills from the previous training sessions. Unlike the classroom role plays, scenario training creates a setting which is 70-80% cognitive reality. This allows for safe practice of these skills in a dynamic and realistic environment.
