Currently no MIOSHA standards exists regulating industrial laser use besides the duty of employers to protect their employees from the possibility of injury or illness. This class is designed to provide Michigan employers with a basic understanding of the requirements they will need to meet in order to protect their employees and eliminate laser safety and health hazards. This class will review the safety and health hazards commonly associated with industrial laser applications and usage, classifications, nominal hazard zones, laser officer responsibilities, training and guarding, MIOSHA compliance requirements, and other applicable consensus standards.
