This course is a Michigan Sheriff’s Association requirement for in-service County Corrections Officers and must be completed within one (1) year of date of hire. This course may also be attended by pre-service individuals seeking employment as a County Corrections Officer, with the approval of the Academy Director. Course instruction includes, but is not limited to, Correctional Law, Booking & Intake, Custody & Security, First Aid, Report Writing, and Defensive Tactics.
