Macomb College Police Department offers “emergency preparedness & situational awareness” training for students. The 1 ½-hour training session combines presentation, demonstration, discussion and hands-on exercises covering:
- How to respond during an active shooter incident
- What to do to control traumatic bleeding
- Familiarization with hands-only CPR
- How to operate an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Bystander Intervention strategies
- Drugs and alcohol: Know the risks
- Campus security awareness
Students are encouraged to take advantage of this important training opportunity.
