This course covers Part 2 – Walking-Working Surfaces is a performance-based rule set intended to ensure safety in all workplaces where employees access horizontal or vertical walking-working surfaces. These rules adopt the Federal OSHA Walking-Working Surfaces standards and provide minimum performance guidance for employers whose employees use fixed and portable ladders, mobile ladder stands and platforms, step bolts and manhole steps, stairways and dockboards, scaffolds, and rope descent systems.
The course places strong emphasis on employers’ duty to provide fall protection and falling-object protection, as well as the criteria, practices, and training requirements needed to keep employees safe while working on or around these surfaces.
