Should social media have regulations? This issue brings forth divergent points of view: those who consider the possible harmful influences, especially on adolescents, and those who find these platforms to be resources of access and a place for belonging. This event will feature an active discussion highlighting the balance of free speech, user privacy, child safety, and content moderation, all while considering state versus federal authority and calls for independent agencies. Students will participate in roundtable discussions and brainstorming of the issue, and then share with the audience at large.
